Welcome to the SEFAGIA 2027 Congress in Valencia

Dear colleagues and friends,

On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee and the Board of the Spanish Society of Autophagy (SEFAGIA), we are very happy to invite you to the SEFAGIA 2027 Congress. The meeting will take place at the Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera in Valencia, Spain, from February 3rd to 5th, 2027.

As in previous editions, our main goal is to provide a vibrant and interactive forum where researchers and students can get together to discuss the latest advances in the field. The scientific program will cover a broad range of topics related to autophagy, from basic cell biology and genetics to its critical roles in metabolism, oncology, immunity, and neurodegeneration.

We are especially excited about this year's lineup. We have the honor of hosting three outstanding keynote speakers who have made fundamental contributions to our understanding of autophagy:

Dr. Ana María Cuervo (Albert Einstein College of Medicine, USA)
Dr. Ivan Dikic (Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany)
Dr. Nektarios Tavernarakis (University of Crete, Greece)

We strongly encourage researchers at all career stages to join us and present their work. We have designed the schedule to ensure plenty of time for networking, allowing you to share ideas, catch up with colleagues, and build new scientific collaborations in a relaxed environment.

Finally, we are thrilled to host you in Valencia. Besides the exciting science, we hope you will have the chance to enjoy our beautiful city, its fantastic winter light, the local gastronomy, and the social events we are preparing for you.
